Q1. Find the perimeter of rectangle whose length is 2.5m and breadth is 150cm.

Ans:- 2 (L+B)

800cm or 8m

 

Q2. Find the cost of fencing a rectangular field 260m long and 175m wide at $40 per metre.

Ans:- P= 870m

Cost = 870 X 40 = $34800

 

Q3. A gardener wants to fence his rectangular garden of length 200m and breadth 100m. if he wants to use three layers of wire to fence the garden, find the length of the wire required by him.

Ans:-

P=600m

Three layers of fencing = 600X3 = 1800m

Q4. Find the length of a rectangle whose perimeter is 450m and breadth is 97m.

P= 2 (L+B)

450= 2 (L+97)

450/2 = L+97

225 = L+97

225-97= L

L= 128m

 

Q5. Find the cost of fencing a square field of side 6m at the rate of $2 per metre.

Ans:- P= 4Xside

P= 24m

Cost = 2 X24 = $48

Q6. Every morning, Andy and Mandy go for a jog. Andy takes 3 rounds of a square park of side 200m while Mandy takes 4 rounds of a rectangular park of length 150m and breadth 100m. Who covers a greater distance?

Ans:- Andy = 2400m

Mandy = 2000m

Andy covers more distance

Q7. Find the area of a square whose perimeter is 84cm.

Ans:- Perimeter = 84cm

Side = 21cm

Area = 441cm^2
