Q1. Find the area of the rectangle

a) L= 8mm, B = 7mm, A = 56mm^2

b) L= 7m, B= 3m , A = 21m^2

C) L= 8cm, B= 9cm, A= 72cm^2

Perimeter = 2 (L+B)

a) 2(8+7)= 2X15 = 30mm

b) 2(7+3 ) =2X10 = 20m

c) 2(8+9) = 2X17 = 34cm

Q2. A shop window is 5m long and has an area of 15m^2.

a) What is the height of the window?

Ans:- Height = Area/ length = 15/5 = 3m

b) What is the perimeter of the window?

Ans:- P = 2(L+B)

= 2(5+3) = 2X8 = 16m

Q3. Anna wants buy a new rug for her wall.

The rug must be 3m long and 70cm wide. Work out the area of rug that she needs.

Ans-L= 3m = 300cm

B= 70cm

A=LXB= 300X 70 = 21000cm^2

Q4. Find the volume of the cuboid When

a) L= 3m, B = 5m, H= 6m

b) L= 7cm, B= 2cm, H= 6cm

Ans:- a) V=LXBXH = 3X5X6 = 90m^3

b) V= 7X6X2 =84cm^3

Q5. Oditi Find the volume of cuboid whose L= 8cm, B = 2cm , H= 3cm

She use the following method

V= 8X2X3X2 = 96cm^3

Is oditi correct, Explain your answer.

Ans:- She multiplied breadth 2 times instead of 1 time

V= LXBXH = 8X2X3 = 48cm^3
