LEt original price= x

New price = (1+14/100) X original price


1425 = 114/100 X original price

1425X100/114 = ORiginal price

$1250 = original price


Q8. A number is increased by 20% and then decreased by 20%. Find the net increase or decrease percent.

Ans:- LEt the number be x

Increased number = 20% of x= 20x/100 = x/5

Number = x+x/5 = 6x/5

Decreased by 20% = 20% of 6x/5

= 20/100X 6x/5 = 6x/25

Number = 6x/5 - 6x/25= x/25


Net decrease percents= x/25 X 1/x X100% = 4%


Q9. Swati spends 65% of her salary and the rest she saves. If she saves $2940 per month, what is her monthly salary?


Ans:- $8400
